Ronseal Ultra Tough Mattcoat is a high-performance interior wood varnish designed to provide outstanding protection for wooden surfaces throughout your home. Formulated as a tough polyurethane matt varnish, Ronseal Ultra Tough Mattcoat delivers a clear, natural-looking finish that enhances the beauty of the wood without adding unwanted shine. It is perfect for interior wood such as doors, skirting boards, stair parts, furniture, and other frequently used surfaces.

Please note: this product is not suitable for use on flooring.

How to Use Ronseal Ultra Tough Mattcoat

Preparation:

Ensure the room is warm and well ventilated before starting. Using a cloth and white spirits, remove any wax, oil, or grease from the surface. Sand the wood smooth to create an even base. If the surface has been previously coated, remove any flaking, cracked, or peeling varnish before application.

Application:

• Stir the tin thoroughly before use.
• Using a brush, apply the varnish evenly in the direction of the wood grain.
• Allow the first coat to dry for 6 hours.
• Apply a second coat and allow a further 6 hours to dry.
• Before applying the third and final coat, lightly sand the surface and wipe away dust with a damp cloth.
• Apply the final coat for a smooth, professional-quality finish.

Coverage:

• Approximately 7.5m² per litre, depending on the condition of the wood.
