The ideal varnish for outdoor wood, the Ronseal Yacht Varnish Gloss protects wood all year round. Suitable for use on doors and windows the Ronseal Yacht Varnish Gloss is waterproof, durable and resistant against peeling, blistering and cracking, while also protecting the wood against sun damage.

Not only does Ronseal Yacht Varnish Gloss enhance the woods natural colour it also works to help prevent wood from greying as time passes and leaves it with a gloss finish.
Ronseal Yacht Varnish Gloss is not suitable for use on decking.

How to use the Ronseal Yacht Varnish Gloss:

• Before you begin applying the varnish, make sure the wood is dry and sound and that the day is relatively warm and dry too (temperature should ideally be above 10°c).
• If the wood has been previously varnished, it is recommended that you sand down the old finish and then wipe the surface using a cloth using white spirit to remove the remaining dust.
• If the wood you are using is bare and new, it is also advised that you sand it down and clean with a cloth and white spirit to get a smoother application.
• Mix the varnish thoroughly to get the best consistency and trial the colour on an unnoticeable patch to make sure you are 100% happy, it could darken your wood but should enhance its natural colour.
• Using a brush, begin applying the first coat, ensuring the stroke goes with the grain. 
• It is recommended that you apply 2 or 3 coats, leaving 8 hours between each coat for drying time. 
• Before applying the final coat of varnish, gently sand the surface and wipe dust off with a damp cloth before applying to give you a gorgeous finish – this should be dry within 4 hours
• You will get approximately 16m² of coverage per litre of Ronseal Yacht Varnish Gloss.
