It is important to always do a trial run before you start painting, keeping in mind that the final colour will depend on the original colour and condition of the wood and the number of coats you are going to apply.
Whether you are applying Sadolin Extra Woodstain to new bare wood or surfaces that have previously been painted, woodstained or varnished, follow the guidelines found on the tin for best results.

Applying Sadolin Extra Woodstain Mahogany:

• Before beginning, read the product label through, considering all the necessary precautions and safety information.
• Stir the woodstain well before use and ensure the surface is clean and dry.
• Do not apply when it is damp or going to rain or in temperatures below 8°C or above 25°C.
• When applying the coat, touch up any bare areas to match the colour of the surrounding area, take care to not over brush onto the surface as you will see brush marks. 
• Gently de-nib between coats if there is any raised grain, new or bare wood will require 2 coats to be applied

How to maintain the colour of Sadolin Extra Woodstain Mahogany:

Depending on how much the surface has been exposed to varying weather conditions one or two coats may be required.
