Suitable for use as a base stain or/and as a finishing coat, the Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus is a low build, solvent-borne, semi-gloss woodstain. Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus is ideal for use on softwoods, hardwoods, plywood, block board and particle board, claddings timber frames, fences and sheds. Alternatively, Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus can also be applied as a base coat to joinery such as windows and doors, and then painted over with the Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus in your desired colour.
When Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus is used by itself, 3 coats are advised, however when it is used as a base coat prior to applying Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus, just one coat needs to be applied.
How to use the Sikkens Cetol Filter HLS Plus Light Oak 5 Litre:
- The wood surface that you wish to treat should be clean dry and free from grease and dirt. It should be applied when the temperature and humidity is suitable.
- Make sure that Sikkens Cetol Filter HLS Plus is thoroughly stirred prior to and throughout use. If you wish, you can also trial it out on a smaller unnoticeable area of wood to make sure you are satisfied before beginning.
- To achieve the best result, apply the product with a high-quality soft bristled brush, working the product into all the surface that is exposed, including into joints, end grains and sawn timbers. Take care not to over brush to get the most out of the protective coating and achieve the best finish.
- Allow 18 – 24hours of drying time, then apply another coat as soon it has dried thoroughly.
